Interactive role simulation

Practise the job
before you have it.

RoleCube puts you in a role for three working days. You read the messages, sit in the meetings and dig through the data, then make a recommendation. Afterwards you get feedback from a manager’s point of view, and you can try again if it did not go well.

Feedback on your decisions, from a manager’s point of view

01 · The day

Work comes in a bit at a time.

Nothing is summarised for you. A message lands while you’re reading a document, the numbers only half support the story, and the meeting goes ahead whether you’re ready or not. Making sense of the day is most of the job.

Your VP wants a clear recommendation, not a list of options. The brief doesn’t say what it should be.

Messages

Board pack is Friday. I need a point of view on enterprise churn, not a list of options.
Sofia Okafor · 09:41
Understood. Is the concern the rate, or the segment it’s concentrated in?
You · 09:44
That’s exactly the question I need you to answer.
Sofia Okafor · 09:45
Reply in your own words. She answers based on what you say.

02 · The decision

There’s no single right answer.

You can get it wrong here. That’s what makes it useful practice.

Every scenario is built so the evidence is incomplete. Two stakeholders disagree and both are partly right. The data supports more than one conclusion. There’s no hidden answer to work out, because the real job doesn’t have one either.

So what you practise is judgement: deciding how much evidence is enough, whose account to trust, and when to commit to a recommendation while someone senior waits for it.

It’s hard to build that skill until you already have the job. RoleCube gives you a place to start earlier.

03 · The feedback

Then you get feedback, the way a manager would give it.

It’s more than a score. You get a review of the decisions you made, the evidence you used and the evidence you missed.

“You landed on the right segment and said so clearly, which isn’t easy under that much pressure. But you took Amir’s word on the release without checking it against the onboarding notes. That’s the thread Lena was pulling on all along.”

What you missed

  • Three cancellation notes naming the same handoff
  • The mid-market cohort, which you never queried

Pick a role, work through three days of it and make your recommendation. Your progress saves as you go, so you can stop part-way and pick up where you left off. See how a scenario runs.
